ComputerWeekly.com is running a story entitled "Non-Microsoft Browsers Are Most Secure Choice" (see http://www.computerweekly.com/articles/article.asp?liArticleID=131776). The article argues that Microsoft Internet Explorer is less secure because a) it has grown to be too big and complex and that...

Eric Jones, CF columnist for SitePoint.com, has posted a column entitled "Making the Case for ColdFusion". Eric is an experienced PHP developer, who was "asked to switch from my happy PHP world to the dark side of ColdFusion", and learned that by using ColdFusion he could "do things faster,...

The North American segment of the most ambitious (and grueling) user group tour in Macromedia's history has just finished. Reactions to Blackstone (the next major version of ColdFusion) have been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic, and so I thought it worthwhile to share some of what we've...

The 2nd edition of my "Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes" is now available in Polish, published by Helion (http://helion.pl/, book page at http://helion.pl/ksiazki/sqloko.htm). I presented Blackstone to the Boston CFUG this evening, another great presentation (despite the heat and the lack of air conditioning). It looks like Microsoft is managing to settle State lawsuits one at a time. (See http://www.itworld.com/Man/2699/040629msarizona/ and more). Arizona is the 12th state to settle, and Microsoft will provide $104 million in vouchers to customer who were "overcharged" for Windows and Office in between...

Kansas City held the user group attendance lead (for this tour) for a few weeks, but Washington D.C. took the lead this evening with 100 attendees. About 1/3 of those present had attended my CFUN keynote, so I varied the presentation somewhat (different examples, additional content), answered lots...
